Meet Rohit Gupta, who proved that hard work is the most important investment.
In order to live a comfortable life, everyone dreams of becoming successful. Those who fail, blame their destiny, others blame their situation, but the one who focuses on learning and utilizing his knowledge to work better, wins in the end.
Such is the story of Mr. Rohit Gupta, who even after belonging to an underprivileged background, was able to twist his destiny and become a successful entrepreneur in the field of event management.
He realized his skills and potential and utilized them in an area, in which he knew he would be able to perform well. His story gives hope and courage to people in believing that you truly don’t require a high amount of investment for setting up a business, but what you do require is a skill.
Initial struggle
Growing up, Rohit had a rough childhood, as had to work at a tea stall to support his family from a very young age, which is why studying never became a priority for him. After some time, his father moved their family from Maholi, Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh) to Lucknow and started a stall there. His life didn’t get better magically overnight but he never stopped moving forward.
The turning point
Everyone needs a little push to realize their potential, Rohit got the push when he went to a relative’s wedding in 2016. After observing the struggles his relatives went through in arranging a wedding, there he decided to help them out and after managing the event successfully, he realized his problem-solving capabilities. After that, he started helping out and proving assistance at a few more events, where people suggested, he begins working in the same field as he is capable enough.
He took the advice into consideration and started event management and planning.
Growth and challenges
Of course, nothing is as easy as it seems. Rohit too had to overcome and take care of many problems, such as vendors not arriving on the day of the event after finalizing the deal. But his quick wit and management skills were always able to take care of the situation smoothly. Today he has built his successful event management company called Event Planet and has planned around 238 events till now.
He believes that failing is the most important criterion for success because it is proof that one is trying to do something new. According to Rohit the only investment one needs to set up this business is adequate skills, good networking, and a visiting card, in short, you can start working in this field with just Rs. 100 as an initial investment.
Rohit is truly an inspiration for people who feel helpless and trapped because of their situation.
